REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRE

We will require the following documentation for each hirer and any other permitted driver:

  • Copy of the photo card driver’s licence – We use the details to make an online licence check: www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
  • Two forms of proof of address (details must match the address on the driver’s licence)
  • Deposit is taken by a clear and traceable means such as a debit and credit card.

The insured vehicle shall only be let out on hire to a person who has signed and completed a rental agreement or the hirer/driver proposal for each period of hire.

The following documentation is acceptable for proof of address:

  • Two Utility bills/statements (Gas, Electric, Water, Council tax etc) dated within the last 3 months or,
  • One utility bill together with any of the following:
  • Council tax bill
  • HMRC bill/Credit card bill/statement
  • Mortgage statement/Landline phone/internet/TV bill/statement

HIRER CRITERIA

  • All drivers must have held a full UK or EU licence for a minimum of two years.
  • All drivers must not be under the age of 25 or over 75 years of age.
  • Drivers must not have had their license suspended for any period within the last three years. iv) Has not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years. v) Has no more than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction. vi) Has not obtained a BA.DD or UT conviction
  • In the event of a theft by hirer claim, an excess equal to 25% of the vehicle value will apply.
  • In the event of a claim resulting from the use of cooking/heating appliances, a 25% coinsurance excess will apply, subject to a minimum excess of £500.
  • Any Hirer that falls outside the above criteria may be referred to for approval and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • We do not charge for insurance referrals.
