Hirer Criteria
- All drivers must have held a full UK or EU licence for a minimum of two years
- All drivers must not be under the age of 25 or over 75 years of age
- Drivers must not have had their license suspended for any period within the last three years. iv) Has not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years. v) Has no more than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction. vi) Has not obtained a BA, DD or UT conviction
- In the event of a theft by hirer claim, an excess equal to 25% of the vehicle value will apply.
- In the event of a claim resulting from the use of cooking/ heating appliances, a 25% coinsurance excess will apply, subject to a minimum excess of £500. (£700 total excess for drivers aged 23 & 24
- Any Hirer that falls outside the above criteria may be referred to for approval and will be considered on a case by case basis.
- We do not charge for insurance referrals.
Booking and Payment
- Availability upon request
- 25% deposit required at time of booking
- Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to hire date
- If the booking is less than 8 weeks to hire date, full payment is required
- Booking can be made via Bank Transfer, JCB, Maestro, Master Card, Master Debit UK Maestro, Visa Debit, Visa Credit and AMEX
- Hire will not commence until full payment is received
- Minimum 3 nights hire (subject to availability)-7 nights in July and August
- European travel by request
Hire Rates include
- VAT
- Unlimited UK miles
- Fully comprehensive UK insurance
- UK breakdown/Recovery
Security Deposit
- A pre-authorised payment of £1000 will be taken as a security deposit on collection/commencement of hire. £2,000 if ferry transport is used.
- Pre authorised Card payment deposit must be in the lead drivers name
- On commencement of hire, the customer authorises the deduction from the security deposit any amounts due to them arising out of this Agreement due to damage neglect or accident damage.
- The Security Deposit will be released within 7 working days of the vehicle being returned to Howe Motorhomes provided there are no damages or outstanding insurance claims.
Cancellation
- 8 weeks prior to collection date: Deposit is non-refundable
- 2 to 7 weeks prior to collection date: 50% charge will apply
- 2 weeks or less to collection date: 100% charge will apply
- Limehouse Motorhomes reserve the right to cancel any booking due to adverse weather conditions
Collection/Start of Hire
- 1 to 2-hour handover will be provided
- All Drivers must be present at the handover
- Your Motor home will be clean internally and externally ready for your journey
- Checklist completed
- Your Motor home will be full of fuel
- The fresh water tank will be full (Filled to the level recommended for driving) Grey and black water will be empty and cleaned ready for use with required chemicals
- Pick up weekly hire 2pm4pm (All other times by agreement of Howe Motorhomes)
Return of Hire
- Internally must be clean (Charge will occur if not returned in a clean condition)
- Motorhome full of fuel (Refuelling charges will apply)
- Holding tanks empty (Charge will occur if not empty and clean)
- Report any damage or fault during the hire
- Return weekly hire 9am-11am (All other times by agreement of Limehouse Motorhomes
- Your Motorhome systems will be checked prior to your hire
- All damage or system failure should be reported to Limehouse Motorhomes as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours of occurrence
- We will endeavour to assist in any system failure
- It is the hirer’s responsibility to assess winter conditions that may cause any damage to systems and any damage will be chargeable to the hirer.
Insurance
- Fully comprehensive cover and damage to the third party included
- Insurance does not include personal injury or death for the customers
- Personal possessions are not included
- The customer will be liable for the first £1000 of an accident or reported incident in the event of damage to the vehicle or third party
- Only persons named on the agreement are insured and allowed to drive the hire vehicle
- Overhead damage to the vehicle is not insured
- Gross Negligence not covered
- Internal damage not covered
- Windscreen, wing mirrors, or tyre damage not covered
If an accident occurs – hirers’ responsibility
- Notify Limehouse Motorhomes as soon as possible but within 24 hours
- Obtain the names and addresses of third parties and any witnesses and report the event to the nearest police station if required
- Complete an accident claim form
- Assist Limehouse Motorhomes in handling any claim arising from any event including providing all relevant information and attending court to give
evidence. - No Security deposit or insurance excess will be refunded until the claim is fully settled.
Drivers
- Drivers must not be under the age of 25 or over 75 years of age
- Each driver must declare at the time of booking if they have had their license suspended for any period within the last three years. iv) Has not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years. v) Has no more than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction. vi) Has not obtained a BA, DD or UT conviction
- Maximum 3 Drivers per Hire (Checks will be made on all drivers requested to drive)
- All drivers must have held a UK valid licence for more than 2 years that entitles them to drive a UK category B vehicle up to 3500kg
- Drivers may be requested to demonstrate ability and confidence in driving the vehicle/motor home. Howe Motorhomes reserve the right to cancel the hire in case of no ability.
- Drivers holding only an automatic licence cannot drive our manual motor homes
- All Drivers must be present at handover
- International drivers must produce full drivers licence and passport
- If any required documentation not produced on the day of hire may cancel the booking and no refund will be given

Passengers
- Maximum 4 persons allowed to travel in the vehicle
- Safety belts to be used at all time when in motion
- Child seats must be provided by the hirer as UK law
European Travel
- European/cross border travel by permission and agreement of Limehouse Motorhomes
- Additional Insurance of £10 per night
- Minimum term 7 days
- Max mileage 250 per day (additional charges may apply)
Use of Vehicle
- Vehicle to be driven in a cautious and responsible manner
- All drivers to abide by all driving UK laws
- Where safe and possible use a banks man when reversing the vehicle
- Never leave the vehicle unlocked when unattended
- Never leave the key in the ignition when not sat in the driver’s seat
- Never submerge the vehicle in water
- Avoid contact with salt water
- Never use the vehicle to tow other vehicles
- Never drive off-road unless positioning on approved camping areas. (Check ground condition in every case)
- Always ensure all internal and external checks have been made, as supplied safety check document instructs, before driving the vehicle away and from any site
- The Insured Vehicle shall not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature or for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire and reward or any other form of profit or remuneration.
Maintenance
- Check oil and coolant levels
- Check tyre condition and pressures
- Check black and grey tanks and empty accordingly
- Your motor home is diesel. If wrong fuel is added then costs will be charged
Pets
- Pets are welcome but require approval on booking
- Usually, 1 medium or 2 small dogs allowed
- An additional cleaning charge may apply if your pet causes any damage
- Please keep pets off internal furniture and beds
Smoking
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted at any time inside the motor home
- Loss of security bond should smoke be detected will apply Vehicle Hire
UK Law
- This Agreement shall be governed by the law of Great Britain.
Data Protection
- The information that you have provided to Limehouse Motorhomes will be used to fulfil this contract placed with us. We will not pass this information on to any other organisation outside this company other than to our insurer and our insurance broker.
